MOVELAR is a furniture manufacturing industry founded in 1968 in the municipality of Linhares, north of the Espirito Santo State in Brazil, where it is still based. The name "MOVELAR" (an agglutination of the words "furniture" and "home" in Portuguese) was chosen to accurately express the company's main goal: providing its customers with furniture for each and every phase of their lives, meeting their requirements with quality and comfort. The Company places all its bets on boldness, creativity, planning and professional qualification of its collaborators.
The book "A Industria do Sucesso. A linha de montagem do exito empresarial" (The Success Industry. The Assembling Line of Entrepreneurial Success) , by journalist Elias Awad, released in 2004, tells Movelar's history. The book depicts Domingos Rigoni's entrepreneurism in founding the company and turning it into a market referential.
Movelar started
exporting its products in 1986. From then on, exports figures grew to such an extent as to make Movelar accountable for 90% of furniture exports in Espírito Santo in the year of 2004.
Aiming at expanding its foreign market share, Movelar inaugurated the Unit 4 in 2004, exclusively for export quality furniture manufacturing. This new unit has brought about significant advances in production, quality control and development of products for the foreign market.
